The Finger Lakes, New York

Endless amounts of beer, wine, & sunshine

Hi! Today I’m sharing a little bit about our trip to the Finger Lakes in New York! We went on this trip back in June, sooo I know I’m way late on this one, but better late than never! If you are a wine drinker, then I’m sure that you’ve already heard of the Finger Lakes. And if you haven’t, you need to get there! Not only for the wine, but also for the views. This place is just miles and miles of beautiful lakes, fields, and wineries. LOTS of wineries. Seriously, you don’t need a map. Just start driving and you’ll find a winery (or distillery or brewery!) every half mile or so . This area of New York is also known for their white wine, which is my fav (not a fan of the reds). One place even had a wine and cheese pairing. Now if that’s not the perfect pitstop, then I don’t know what is.

We stayed at a cute little Air B&B in the woods. We weren’t there much during the day, but we loved spending the evenings drinking by the fire (one of my favorite things!). Oh, and I forgot to mention the waterfalls. We had to make a stop at Watkins Glen. The photos speak for themselves.

AND to top it all off, we went on this trip with two of our best friends who had just gotten engaged the week before. So it was the perfect opportunity for some extra celebrations. Now Jena and Devin LOVE breweries. Basically every time they are going on a date day, you will find them trying out a new brewery. SO when we came across this awesome hop field we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a mini engagement session.

Moral of the story: If you like wine or beer or beautiful scenery or waterfalls or weekends spent relaxing by the fire with friends… GO TO THE FINGER LAKES!
