Meet Hazel!

We have some big news! Our family just grew by four paws and a whole lot of love. Hazel is a 10 week old mixed pup that we just rescued from an organization called All 4 Paws. They didn’t have much background info on her, but Hazel & her siblings were rescued from a high kill shelter down south. Since she is a rescue they aren’t positive about her breed, but they are guessing that she is some sort of lab/beagle mix.

It’s only been about a week so far, but I can already see how well Hazel is fitting in. She is super smart (already mastering some basic obedience skills) and is well on her way to being house trained. Hopefully I’m not speaking too soon, but I was surprised how easily she picked up on this (so far only a few accidents! And some car sickness today, bleh lol). But she is so sweet and loving! She loves to play and chew, but also enjoys multiple naps a day. As I’m writing this she is curled up next to me in her bed <3 Below are some photos from our first few days together.

We have been waiting awhile for the right time to open our hearts to a little furbaby, and we are so happy to finally be ready and to have crossed paths with Hazel. To be honest, getting a puppy is a LOT of work. She needs constant attention and supervision, and she’s super curious so she wants to get into everything! Not to mention she needs to be let out every night at 2 am… I’ve got to be honest we have also been experiencing some issues with separation anxiety (ok, so I’m the one with the anxiety). Luckily my mom has been super helpful by watching her while I’m at work, so I don’t have to feel guilty about leaving her at home while she’s so little. Josh has also been an awesome dog dad too (; Either way, all the hard work is so worth it cause she’s the best pup ever! I mean look at that face… Get ready to watch her grow, cause I’m sure I will be filling up my IG with lotttsss of puppy posts!
