One More Month!

Well, here we are. Officially one month out from the wedding…

Honestly, it’s surreal even typing that. This whole thing has been 1 year and 9 months in the making, and we (and many others) have put a lot of time and effort and money and brain power into pulling all this together. Looking back, all I can think about is how crazy it is that this day is ACTUALLY going to happen (and soon!). So now that we are in the final countdown… Here are a few things that have been happening:

  • Celebrations! Both Josh and I had our bachelor(ette) parties, and my bridesmaids threw me the most amazing bridal shower (as seen below :) ). We are also working on planning our “rehearsal dinner”, although we are having a private ceremony - so there isn’t much to rehearse. It’s really going to be more like a taco & marg themed fiesta with our closest family and friends.

  • Details. Lots of Details. Believe it our not I think the small details are harder that the big ones! Right now most of my spare time is spent making sure everything I envisioned will come to life. Basically every day I’m back on amazon ordering some forgotten item that pops into my head.

  • Final numbers. We have been organizing all of our RSVPs and getting a final headcount together, so we can be passing along the info vendors and creating final numbers for flowers, tables, food, alcohol, favors, etc. Not going to lie, it’s a lot to coordinate. Our timeline has also been a big to do recently! I’m trying to be as prepared as possible so everyone knows where they need to be and when.

  • Scheduling Vendor Meetings. The last few weeks we have been in a lot of contact with vendors. We had our final venue visit, my dress fittings, calls/emails with the DJ/photographer/florist/caterer — you get the point. It truly is amazing how many people are willing to work together to make this day happen.

  • Mental Preparations. Overall I think that I am a pretty laid back person/bride, and I have been making a point to remember to keep my priorities straight, but I gotta be honest. The smaller this countdown number gets the more anxious I get. It feels like there is so much that needs to be done and I know that I will have so many emotions when the day actually gets here. I need to make sure that when the day comes, I let go of what I can’t control (like the weather, for example) and choose to be positive and happy, even when things are going wrong (and they WILL go wrong). Trying to be prepared and organized in advance has been my main coping skill throughout this process. After that, it is what it is!

There are so many other things on our minds, but these are just the basics. I have been trying so hard to stay on top of the daunting to do list (next up is favors, wedding party gifts, marriage license, etc), so hopefully July will be as stress free as possible. Either way, I am working on getting in the mindset of focusing on what’s important (ya know, marrying Josh) and letting everything else fall into place.

Below I am sharing some photos from my bridal shower. It was a gorgeous, sun shiney day, and having my family and friends there made it even more perfect. Needless to say, I am beyond grateful for all the people who came together to celebrate me, Josh, and all the amazing times to come :)
