Happy Birthday Saylor!

Saylor’s 1st bee day party!

Ahhhh I can’t believe our sweet girl is officially one year old! We had SO much fun celebrating her last weekend. Saylor is the perfect mix of laid back and wild. She is so curious and loves to explore, but also likes to sit back and observe. She is so smart and loves to model things we do and say. She is starting to learn new words every day! She also started walking just in time for her birthday. Below I’m sharing some of the details from Saylor’s first “bee” day party :) She had a blast!

Josh and I worked so hard to make all of these details come together, and honestly I loved how everything turned out! Party planning is hard work, but it’s totally worth it once you are there celebrating. We had such a great day!

Of course I had to include some bee themed food! I loved the idea of these cute bee hive shaped pb&js & honey comb snack mix. Otherwise we kept it simple and had some honey sriracha meatballs, yummy pasta salad, a charcuterie board, and lots of pizza! Oh, and of course cupcakes & cookies. We got the cute sugar bee candies from amazon!

We wanted the party to be laid back, so we didn’t have any “activities”. Just a few things for the kids, like bubbles and chalk. But I thought this time capsule idea was super cute! The guests wrote Saylor a quick message that I will save for her 18th birthday. I also made this photo board to share all of her monthly milestone pictures. It’s one of my favorite parts! I love seeing how much she changed over the course of a year.

And of course it wouldn’t be a 1st birthday party without a smash cake! I found a “healthier” homemade cake recipe, which was sweetened with bananas. I gave it a messy look with some icing & then added some bee decor and caramel to look like honey. It turned out pretty cute! I wasn’t sure how she would feel about eating with an audience, but she actually ate a decent amount! Hazel was there for the extras of course.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to make Saylor’s birthday so special! It was a great day! :)
