The Ciferris

The Ciferris

Over the summer I had the honor of photographing my friend and her sweet family. Yes, obviously they are adorable, but there is soo much more to their story. Although it’s hard to sum up their experiences into just a few paragraphs, I’ll start with about two years ago when their daughter Adalyn passed away during pregnancy. Unfortunately, the social norm causes people to face the stigma. People feel forced to hide their emotions of loss and grief, which can lead to feelings of isolation and shame, and ultimately suffering in silence. BUT I quickly saw Chloe and Adam do the opposite. Throughout their grieving process they have been so open with honoring Addie and sharing their journey. They have broken the stigma and been an unbelievable source of support and encouragement for others. Not only has this aided in their own healing, but they have also paved a road for so many other families to also be open to honoring and their babies and sharing their stories.

Since this experience, Chloe and Adam have gone on to do SO many amazing and inspiring things. They have welcomed their second child Enzo, became foster parents, started a health and wellness journey, AND created a non profit organization to help families fund funeral and cremation costs after the loss of their baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or in the first few months of life. And more importantly, they help honor the memories of babies gone too soon. Seriously people, I have been so amazed and inspired to see the Ciferris take such a heartbreaking experience, and turn it into something so beautiful and meaningful. They are truly incredible, selfless humans.
